Course Instructors:

Jerry Eaton  P.E., CEM, CPM, CEEP,  is a senior energy engineer with Science Application International Corporation, (SAIC), a Fortune 500 scientific, engineering, and technology applications company.  Jerry works closely with the State of Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy Program by helping industrial companies reduce their energy spend.   He has over 25 years experience in energy, utilities, engineering, and facilities management.  He has taught over 800 students and has authored numerous articles on energy management.  In 2006 he received the Wisconsin’s Governor Award for his work in energy efficiency.   In 2007, Jerry founded the Wisconsin Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (WAEE).  

LaMonte L. Wilder, PE, CPM, CEEP,  is a Principal and co-founder of Masters’ Academy. Masters’ specializes in training, program development, project management and professional development in the field of energy efficiency. He has 35 years of corporate experience with Fortune 500 Companies. He is a co-developer of training curriculums and courses in the areas of energy management, electrical safety, facility maintenance and material handling systems.  He was responsible for developing, implementing and managing one of the largest and most successful private energy management programs in the U.S.  His experience includes both supply and demand side energy management along with utility bill analysis, energy auditing, building automation, manufacturing systems optimization and risk analysis. Masters’ Academy has provided services to Federal and State government agencies including the Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Veterans Administration, South Dakota Department of Energy, Wisconsin Focus on Energy and the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.

  • Merck Pharmaceutical saved 22% on energy costs over a 4 year period 
  • Kimberly-Clark reduced energy by 11% per ton of product produced
  • C&A Floor Covering saved 10% over 2 years
  • Mercury Marine saved 12% the first year following implementation of a strategic energy management program and an additional 10% in years 2 and 3 for a total of 32%.

In addition, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, companies with comprehensive energy management programs can achieve practical energy reductions of about 20%. 

Of these savings, 20-30% can be achieved without capital investment by using only procedural and behavioral changes (culture).
